1972 Jethro tull c o n c e r t had chairs ,no one wanted to miss any notes or lyrics. Independent thought patterns don't mature until age 30 or 40 or 50 or 70....

I'm 67 grew up in Cleveland suburb..1970's was bands Stones/ Zeplin formula..we had MANY downtown concert experiences I'll never forget where 'rock' music started to have an edge like Bowie and Roxy Music. Saw both downtown 1974. But suddenly..a quirky pop sound hit the airwaves..snapped us all to new sounds attention. DEVO..the Cars ( The Girl you want, Candy-0) .Music was never the same as those 2 bands ushered in the Brit Indie music..Smiths , New Order, Depeche Mode etc...funtimes!

I never listened to them much back in the day but have grown to love this band over the years, went to see them in Manchester last year and Andrew is still rocking it

I played there with my band in the late 80's. (Angel Fyre) That place was crazy. One night we were playing and Jerry the bartender/owner jumped over the bar and broke up a fight using all his mad karate skills. Things were flying through the air.....we kept playing.....lol. He always had pictures and trophies of himself behind the bar in his karate gear. We always joked that they were fake, until the night he wiped everyone out. To me, it was the CBGBs of Bethlehem. Once the gig was done, we rolled back to brothers on third street. We watched the sun come up on many weekends.

I had just heard the Starwood show from '77 which was phenomenal but it sure is good to watch DEVO as well. Thanks all responsible.

I was at this show and most of their shows in LA. They were THE BEST! This show was a live broadcast on something called the USA cable channel. Nobody had the channel or had heard of it. They said it went to military bases and colleges only. DEVOhad never done a show that was less than perfect. When the snafu happened one DEVO member tried to stop and start over. I think he forgot the whole thing was a live broadcast. Anyway I hate all bands that play to a backing track. It ended ELO. It's fraud and should be illegal. I believe their drummer quit because of the backing tracks. They have a show tonight in LA that I will miss for that reason only. Live Music Only! I love this …thanks so much . I saw this tour in San Diego and it was all messed up technically. I think they ended the show early due to tech problems. Does anyone remember that? I saw them many times. The best was the epic Freedom of choice tour. Blew my teenage mind! Devo forever
